The crowd is loud and persuasive. It can tempt us to follow its opinions and actions, even if they go against our values and goals. It can make us forget who we are and what we stand for. But we don’t have to succumb to the crowd. We can rise above it.
The crowd is like a raging river. It can sweep us away from our true destination and leave us stranded in a place we don’t belong. But we can swim against the current. We can find our way back to our path.
When we realize that we have made wrong choices that led us astray, we may feel scared or ashamed to turn around. But we must not hesitate. We must act quickly and decisively. It is better to lose some time or money than to lose ourselves.
We can resist the crowd by asking ourselves some critical questions: Does this honour God? Is this in line with His will? Is this consistent with my purpose? Is this valuable? Does this reflect my principles? Will this compromise my integrity and character? Then we can adjust accordingly.
Child of God, be alert and discerning. Some voices may sound familiar and trustworthy, but in reality, they are selfish and deceptive.
Does the voice you listen to truly love you? Does it tell you the truth, even when it hurts? Or does it flatter you to please you and then lead you into trouble and abandon you?
The book of Psalms contrasts the two kinds of people: the godly and the ungodly. The destiny of the godly is eternal blessing, while that of the ungodly is eternal destruction.
“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” ~ Psalms 1:1-6.
Beloved, when the majority acts out of hate, bitterness, pride, anger...as believers, we can make a difference by imitating Jesus. God wants us to do everything out of love. Don’t let the crowd and circumstances change you, you are a child of God!
When the whole world goes crazy, don’t go along with the majority. Let your faith stand firm. Be rooted and grounded in God’s love. Let others marvel at how you can be so peaceful when everything is chaotic. Because you are in the world, but not of the world. (John 17:14).
"For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world”~ 1 John 2 : 16.

• Who is your role model?
• Is your role model leading you closer to God or away from Him?
• Will you reject any incentives, rewards or bribes that tempt you to say or do what you know is wrong?
