Understand Your Identity in Christ

We live in a world that often seems confusing. Identity—once rooted in truth, community, and divine design—has become fragmented.

Many today feel like they are drowning in society’s expectations, chasing after titles, images, and affirmations as if they were lifelines in a storm.

But the world is fickle. Its validation is fleeting, and its approval often comes at a cost. As a result, we find ourselves lost, doubting who we are, questioning our worth, and searching for something that already exists within us but remains hidden.

This identity crisis is not accidental; it’s one of the enemy’s oldest and most effective tactics. If he can confuse who you are, he can also confuse what you do. And if he can confuse what you do, he can derail why you’re here.

That's why so many today are redefining their identities based on whatever the world currently applauds—appearance, fame, even gender. This shift is not born out of rebellion but from despair. When you don’t know who you are in Christ, you allow the world to dictate who you should be. Unfortunately, the world is rarely kind.

But let’s pause for a moment. Take a breath. Step out of the noise. God has an entirely different perspective on you.

You are not defined by your past. You are not your failures. You are not the label someone put on you because they couldn’t see your worth. You are not your brokenness, your shame, or your disappointments. You are a new creation.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

This is not merely symbolic; it’s radical. It means your truest self is not found in the mirror of society but in the heart of God.

When the world says you are not enough, heaven says you are chosen.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His special people…” — 1 Peter 2:9

You are not just noticed; you are handpicked. You are not only forgiven; you are appointed. You are not just loved; you are royal.

Our issue is not a lack of identity; it’s that we often trade our true identity for cheap substitutes. Like Esau, we sell our birthright for a moment’s comfort—seeking recognition, success, and the desire to fit in. But the cost is usually greater than it appears.

Don’t be like the spies in Numbers 13:33, who saw giants and felt like grasshoppers. The tragedy wasn’t in their size; it was in their perspective. They forgot who they were and lost sight of what was promised to them.

Isn't that what many of us do? We measure ourselves against the giants of life—status, wealth, influence—and feel inadequate. We forget that the God who parted seas and raised the dead dwells within us. Instead of remembering the Goliath-slayer who walks beside us, we fixate on the giant.

Beloved, your worth is not defined by your job title, the applause you receive, or the rooms you enter. It is defined by the God who calls you His.

Even if the world overlooks you, God never will. Even if you feel invisible here, you are royalty there.

Once you understand your true identity, everything changes. You no longer live for approval; you live from it. You don’t strive to become who you’re meant to be; you rest in who you already are. From that place of knowing flows authority.

God does not reveal your identity without equipping you with power. When you know who you are, you begin to walk differently, speak differently, and choose differently. You carry the confidence of heaven.

So, if you've been wearing false labels—failure, disappointment, not enough—it’s time to tear them off and replace them with God’s truth. Declare these truths over your life daily.

God’s Perspective on You:

  • You are chosen: “You did not choose me, but I chose you…” (John 15:16)
  • You are forgiven: “As far as the east is from the west…” (Psalm 103:12)
  • You are loved: “See what great love the Father has lavished on us…” (1 John 3:1)

Questions for Reflection:

  • Have I allowed my past to define me?
  • What lies have I believed about who I am?
  • How can I fully embrace my identity in Christ today?

Let today be the day you stop asking the world who you are—and start listening to the One who called you.

You are chosen.

You are royal.

You are His.

Thank you for reading.

You're blessed!

God is Moved by Faith, Not Our Needs

Many believe that because God is all-knowing and loving, He will automatically meet our needs. However, while God is indeed aware of our needs, and He hears our prayers, He is not moved by them alone. In Matthew 6:8, Jesus tells us,  “For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”  This verse emphasizes that God already knows what we need, but it does not negate our responsibility to ask Him. We must actively seek God’s help and provision. If we do nothing, God will not move on our behalf. The truth is, what moves God is faith. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus repeatedly highlights the importance of faith in receiving God’s blessings and intervention. In Luke 12:28, Jesus says,  “If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?”  Here, Jesus underscores that it is not our needs that stir God to action but our faith in His ability to provide...

Grace Across Time: Understanding the Past, Present, and Future of God's Transforming Power

How Three Verses Can Revolutionize Your Entire Christian Life Have you ever felt caught between two equally frustrating versions of Christianity? On one side, there's the version that treats grace like a license—a divine permission slip that says God doesn't really expect you to change. "We're under grace, not law," people shrug, as though grace were about lowered expectations rather than transforming power. On the other side, there's the version that acknowledges grace theoretically but lives practically as though everything depends on your performance. You're exhausted, never quite sure if you've done enough, constantly anxious about whether God is pleased with you. Both versions are missing something crucial. And ironically, they're both missing the same thing: a complete understanding of what grace actually does. Let me show you three verses that, if properly understood, can revolutionize your entire Christian experience: "For the grace of...

The Sinking Ship of the World

Dwell on the image of a luxury liner. Gleaming brass and polished wood. The music whispering out of the ballroom as passengers dance and dine oblivious to the water seeping in around the hull below.  That's our world. Not tomorrow's world. Not some far-off apocalyptic future, but the world you woke up in this morning. The Bible doesn't mince words about this. In Hebrews 12:26-27, we find an astonishing promise:  "At t time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, 'Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.' The words 'once more' indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain." Reread that. God isn't threatening to shake things. He's promising to shake them. And not just the earth this time, but the heavens too. Everything built from human imagination, will, and gathered might will be subjected to this sacred earthquake. What can be shaken will be sh...
