Gospel, Salvation and Righteousness
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’” — Romans 1:16–17. The gospel of Christ is the good news from God that offers salvation to everyone who believes. When you hear the gospel, simply believe it to experience its saving power. This power delivers us from sin, disease, and curses. When received by faith, the gospel reveals to the believer that they are the righteousness of God. This means that the moment one believes, they receive salvation and are declared righteous before God. Righteousness signifies a right standing with God, free from a consciousness of sin.
